[ About Donna ]
Professional, but always human.
Over a decade of sitting alongside people as they find their way back to themselves.
[ A letter ]
Dear you,
If you're reading this, something has probably brought you here — maybe a heaviness that won't lift, a relationship that's changed, or a feeling you can't quite name.
I grew up on the north coast, and I still walk the path above Portstewart Strand most mornings. That walk taught me something I bring into every session: nothing needs to be rushed.
I trained as a counsellor after years of noticing how much people carry without ever being asked. Since 2013 I've worked with individuals, couples, young people, and many women navigating menopause.
You won't find clinical language or quick fixes here. You'll find a warm room, a cup of tea, and someone who is genuinely listening.
With warmth,
[ My approach ]
"You are the expert on you."
"No judgement. Ever."
"Slow is okay."
I work integratively, drawing on person-centred, CBT-informed and psychodynamic approaches. In practice, that simply means I adapt to you — rather than asking you to fit a model.
[ What I bring ]
Training, yes. But also presence.
"I listen more than I speak."
"I don't have a formula."
"You are the expert on you."
Qualifications matter, and I take my training seriously. But what most people remember is how it felt to be in the room — unhurried, listened to, and never judged.
I've lived through my own seasons of loss and change, and I know how much courage it takes to sit down and begin. I won't rush you, and I won't pretend to have every answer.
What I can offer is patience, honesty and real warmth — and a steady presence while you find your own way forward.
